It's unclear how many Xbox One units were actually sold to customers

Microsoft has released its financial figures and the company has also confirmed that, between April 1 and June 30, it's managed to ship to retailers around 1.1 million Xbox consoles, meaning both Xbox One and Xbox 360 units.

Microsoft's Xbox One hasn't been doing that well in terms of sales ever since its release last November. Due to constant changes in terms of policy and a steep price when compared to its main rival, the PS4, the console failed to live up to expectations.

Microsoft finally lowered the price in early June by removing the Kinect sensor from the bundle, and it seemed that it had a positive impact on the sales figures, with the company saying that June figures doubled those registered in May.

However, now the company has presented its new quarterly earnings for the period between April 1 and June 30 on its website, and the results aren't that great.

The Redmond giant has decided to group up Xbox console sales into a single figure and confirms that 1.1 million units have been shipped to retailers.

It doesn’t say how many of those units were Xbox One consoles and how many represented the Xbox 360. What's more, it declines to say how many items were sold through to consumers, instead of just to stores.
