SharedView exemplifies Microsoft's invitation to connect, show and share. Essentially, Microsoft SharedView is designed as a collaborative online workspace developed under the Windows Live brand umbrella. The service is designed to enhance the way users connect online. The service is currently in beta stage and comes with support for Windows Vista and Windows XP SP2. However, this support is limited. Microsoft informed that the service will
integrate seamlessly with all 32-bit versions of Windows XP SP2 and with x86 Windows 2003 Server SP1.

Additionally, the Redmond company is also supporting 32-bit editions of Windows Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. By contrast, SharedView is not supported on XPSP2 64bit (x64), Windows 2003 Server SP1 64bit (x64) and Windows 2000 SP4 (all sku's). Microsoft informed that the installation will function on 64-bit versions of Windows Vista but that it does not offer support at this time for such scenarios.

"Connect with up to 15 people in different locations and get your point across by showing them what's on your screen. Share, review, and update documents with multiple people in real time. SharedView is easy to use, from anywhere, at a moment's notice," Microsoft revealed.

No less than 15 users will be able to connect simultaneously, independent of location, via SharedView's collaborative online environment. All the information on their screens will be shared across the connection. Microsoft's collaborative service will enable participants in the same session to edit, view and update the shared documents and files in real time. SharedView is an opened beta, which means that all you have to do in order to test drive the service is download a 3.1 MB installer.

SharedView is just one of the latest examples of Microsoft's increasing commitment to both the Windows Live brand, but also to the suite of programs and services associated with its online offerings on the way to building the company's Cloud operating system.

Microsoft SharedView 8.0.2729.1 Beta was tested by Softpedia as being 100% Clean and is available for download here.
