The newly-launched Microsoft Server and Cloud Platform website is designed to be an one-stop destination for customers building private Cloud using the company’s server technologies. However, in addition to a range of resources on private Clouds, the new site also offers information, guidance and products necessary to virtualize servers and desktops, to manage Cloud applications, deploy servers in a variety of scenarios, administer identities, analyze data, etc.

Customers can quickly browse through the latest news, announcements, product releases, etc. but also access and buy Microsoft server and Cloud technologies.

“The new site is a comprehensive source for information relating to our private cloud and virtualization solutions, as well as other solutions based on Windows Server, System Center, Forefront and related products,” a member of the Windows Server Division revealed.

“It is designed to help connect you to relevant information across Microsoft web destinations, including TechNet, MSDN, Pinpoint and more - making it a great place to understand what we offer, why you should consider it and how to get started.”

When it comes down to emerging computing paradigms, the software giant is ready to guide customers from Private Clouds to the Public Cloud, while also offering solutions for desktops, datacenters, identity and access, etc.

The Windows Azure platform is of course the Redmond company’s top Cloud offering, but additional technologies covered on the site include: Windows Server 2008 R2, the Hyper-V hypervisor, Windows HPC Server 2008 R2, System Center, Forefront and a range of other products.

Most importantly, Microsoft highlights the availability of an impressive collection of trial server and Cloud solutions that customers can test drive free of charge before deciding whether to purchase or not.

Guidance on just how to acquire licenses for Microsoft’s server and Cloud technologies is of course also offered on the site.
