New sales reports confirm it

Microsoft is in a very comfortable position at this time of the year. Its Xbox 360 console is set out to be one of the most attractive consoles of the upcoming holiday season, largely due to the recent price cuts and the pretty big number of bundles that couple the console with some very attractive games.

The Xbox 360 sales are on a pretty big ascending trend, because of the price cut it employed in September, and these sales have just been confirmed by analyst groups that study the number of units shipped by the large manufacturers, which say that Microsoft has shipped over 7 million units in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Quite a hefty increase, considering that in June, Microsoft had barely managed to move 5 million units in the aforementioned territories.

Such an interesting statistic was commented by the VP of strategic marketing for Xbox, David Gosen, who emphasized the fact that the Xbox 360 was in a very good place as opposed to the main rival, the PlayStation 3. He went on to say that the momentum of the console would surely keep the ascending trend of sales and that the holiday season would be extremely good for Microsoft.

"We're in a position now where we've sold over seven million consoles in EMEA, which puts us in a fantastic place versus PlayStation 3," said Gosen. "It's the combination of elements that put us in a fantastically strong position. We have 360 degrees of entertainment. At the moment, momentum is fantastic, we've got real traction in all European markets."

Well, surely enough Microsoft is quite a happy company, as its console does look good, but only the sales charts at the end of this holiday season will say who the winner is and who hasn't achieved any sales. In the end, the regular customer has everything to gain, as the special offers will continue to appear in order to make him buy a certain product.
