Microsoft today rolled out a new version of Windows 10 Technical Preview, and since many of the users enrolled in the Windows Insider Program already installed it, the software vendor can finally discuss some of the changes made to this new release.

In a post on the official Windows blog, Microsoft explains that the majority of improvements you can find in Windows 10 build 9926 are based on user feedback and suggestions received on Windows UserVoice.

Living proof in this regard is the Start menu, as many users asked Microsoft to make it a smaller version of the Start screen and, with the press of a button, make it full-screen, just like the standard feature in Windows 8.

This functionality is now available in Windows 10 build 9926, but Microsoft says that there are many other improvements based on your input.

Persian calendar support

Right now, one of the most voted requests on UserVoice is support for Persian calendar, so yes, the new build does come with such a feature built-in.

“We also heard that folks wanted Persian calendars support and you’ll find that in this build. The Persian calendar format will appear on your Lock screen, your taskbar clock, and on timestamps on files in File Explorer,” the company says.

There's also a new option in “Folder Options” that allows you to configure the default folder when opening File Explorer, again based on requests. Until now, this was only possible with tweaks in the target section of File Explorer's shortcut, so with the new option, everything becomes even easier.

The Settings app has become a fully-featured Control Panel, just like many users requested, while the ALT+TAB window switcher provides larger thumbnails, making it easier to get straight to the app you want.

And last but not least, Windows 10 Technical Preview is now available in 22 new languages, as follows: Japanese, Russian, German, French, French (Canada), Korean, Italian, Spanish, Spanish (Latin America), Traditional Chinese, Swedish, Finnish, Turkish, Arabic, Dutch, Czech, Polish, Thai, Vietnamese (Language Interface Pack), Catalan (Language Interface Pack), and Hindi (Language Interface Pack).
