Microsoft is definitely a happy company in terms of gaming, with its Xbox 360 console managing record sales in territories that have been initially dominated by Sony's PlayStation 3. However, this domination comes after some pretty tough measures introduced by the American company, which has set several price cuts in order to make the console more attractive to users who had low budgets.

However, it seems now that these price reductions have paid off, considering that, once the holiday season approaches, people are becoming ever-more attracted to the Xbox 360, although the PlayStation 3 would be a smarter choice to make, at least in Sony's opinion. With the American company heavily promoting exclusive titles, such as Gears of War 2 or Fable II, few people still wonder about the future games for the Xbox 360, which will be released next year. 

With regard to those matters, Stephen McGill, the head of the gaming and entertainment division for Microsoft UK, has revealed that the company has a lot of surprises prepared for the next year, which most people don't even think about. He goes on saying that they should expect a great deal of interesting things for the Xbox 360, and that a lot of innovative titles will definitely make their way to Microsoft's console.

"Well, I know a lot of the games coming out from us and our third parties. Most of them, in fact, have not been announced because everyone's very focused on what's out for Christmas. So it would do our third party partners a disservice for me to announce their great line-ups before they're ready to. So obviously we've announced things like Halo Wars coming out in the Spring, Halo 3: Recon later next year, Resi Evil 5 is coming to the platform, I'm really excited about that. So I think we're very focused on what's coming out for Christmas, we've talked about things coming out early next year. Very soon at some point we'll have the exclusive content for Grand Theft Auto on Xbox 360. So there's lots of great stuff coming in 2009 that people know about. Lots more, I'm sure that they don't know about."

All in all, these things seem pretty interesting, and, should we believe McGill, Microsoft is definitely going to have a very strong 2009. Let's just hope that it will all be to the benefit of the average user.
