The company turns to anime to promote its new browser

Microsoft clearly hopes to make Internet Explorer the number one browser for every user out there, so it keeps rolling out adverts supposed to promote the latest versions of the app.

This time, Redmond has turned to anime to create a pretty awkward ad that says nothing about its browser, but instead shows some girl fighting with monsters (most likely Firefox and Chrome).

The video was created by Microsoft Singapore and is dedicated to all anime fans worldwide in celebration of Anime Festival Asia (AFA) 2013, the company explained.

And, in case you’re wondering, the personification of Internet Explorer is made by Inori Aizawa, a girl who was “clumsy, slow, and awkward,” as her Facebook profile page reads.

“However, just like the story of ugly duckling, people told me that I have really matured and changed over the years. I feel confident in my abilities now, and I'm eager to show you what I can do.”
