Microsoft has released a new Metro app update for Windows 8, with several built-in utilities receiving a pack of improvements through the Store.

Updates for Video, Finance, and Maps are now up for grabs, but no specifics have been provided on these new versions, so the tech giant has most likely focused on stability and performance.

Just as expected, the updates are being delivered to both Windows 8 and Windows RT, so you should get the new versions regardless of whether you are running Microsoft’s operating system on a desktop computer or on a tablet. Windows 8.1 has also received the new versions, but keep in mind that apps are automatically updated in the first Windows 8 makeover, so you might not notice when the improved builds are deployed on your computer.
