Microsoft has just published a new Internet Explorer advertisement that’s trying to remind everyone that its in-house browser is no longer “the browser you loved to hate.”

The new video also brings some common misconceptions in the spotlight, in an attempt to explain that considering Internet Explorer a slow browser is wrong.

“The video is all about common misconceptions and we teamed up with singer-songwriter, Laura Gibson, to remind you that things aren’t always what they seem, including IE. The new Internet Explorer will help you shake those old misconceptions of IE and we encourage those who haven’t thought about us in a while to give us another look—it probably isn’t the same browser you remember,” a company spokesperson told us.

Of course, more such videos are expected to be released in the coming months, especially because the software maker is getting ready to debut Internet Explorer 11 as part of the new Windows 8.1.
