Microsoft continues to create temporary software sub-sections in the Windows Store to highlight some of the best apps for its new Windows 8, this time trying to appeal to users looking for news programs.

The new category shows up in the “News & Weather” section, presenting the apps that can deliver “news from around the world,” as Microsoft states.

“Getting news delivered straight to your PC has never been easier. Keep an eye on what’s going on around the globe and get updates about breaking stories,” the description reads.

99 percent of the apps available in this sub-section are available with a free license, while a single entry is priced at $2.99 (€2.10). Most of the tools let you reads top online publications, such as The New York Times, USA Today, CNN, BBC, NBC and Sky.
