Microsoft has just introduced a brand new software category in the Windows Store that provides Windows 8 users with apps to help them study.

Basically, this new section provides one-click access to productivity apps, books and reference tools, calculators and dictionaries, all of which are running in the Metro UI of Windows 8.

“Whatever the school year throws at you – exams, homework, pop quizzes, extra credit – you’ll be ready to make the grade with these study aids,” the description of the new software category reads.

Just as expected, all the apps included in this section can be used on basically every version of Microsoft’s new operating system, so you can install it not only on the desktop flavor of Windows 8, but also on Windows RT tablets, such as Microsoft’s own Surface RT.
