Windows 10 is finally taking shape these days

Windows 10 is close to reaching maturity, and despite the fact that Microsoft isn’t saying a lot about the release date of the new operating system or the prices it wants to use when it becomes available, there are a lot of details out there coming via unofficial channels that help us have a glimpse into the company’s plans for the new product.

Prices that got leaked during the weekend revealed that that cheapest Windows 10 version would be Home and would cost $109.99 (€100), and according to a post of Windows leaker WZor, Microsoft has already confirmed these prices for the new operating system.

In other words, the information that Newegg posted online is accurate, WZor says, and Microsoft has admitted that it’s going to use the same prices when Windows 10 sees daylight.

RTM leaks on their way

If we are to trust information provided by Newegg, Windows 10 should debut on August 31, but RTM is expected to be reached in July. A public Windows 10 event could take place on July 29 or 30, some reports have said, but it’s not yet clear if Microsoft plans to release the operating system to anyone before the late August date.

Previously, it was believed that Windows 10 would be first released to insiders who helped Microsoft develop the operating system and only then to everyone else, but the company is yet to confirm this.

Either way, WZor says that the RTM version of Windows 10 is expected to leak in early August, so if by that moment the company doesn’t release the new software to anyone, most people would most likely download and install this leaked version on their PCs.

It remains to be seen if these reports are accurate or not, so don’t take anything for granted right now, but more information should be provided very soon as we get closer to WPC 2015 in early July, when Microsoft could share all details about Windows 10 to its partners.
