14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft officially released the 8.1 update for both desktops and tablets on Thursday, but due to an undisclosed issue, the company has decided to remove it from the Windows RT store.
As Windows Observer reports, Microsoft has pulled the update as it’s investigating an issue affecting only a limited number of users who tried to switch from Windows RT to Windows RT 8.1.
“Windows RT 8.1. Microsoft is investigating a situation affecting a limited number of users updating their Windows RT devices to Windows RT 8.1. As a result, we have temporarily removed the Windows RT 8.1 update from the Windows Store. We are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience. We will provide updates as they become available,” a Microsoft employee was quoted as saying.
At this point, the Windows RT 8.1 update is no longer available and there are absolutely no details as to why the company decided to remove it from the Store.
