In addition to the Windows Phone version, Microsoft has also released a new version of the Xbox Video app for Windows 8.1 devices, including desktops and tablets running this operating system.

Version 2.6.256.0 comes with several improvements, including fixes for issues affecting the aspect ratio and unexpected crashes occurring on both PCs and touch-capable devices.

At the same time, the official release notes reveal that the “episode details pages now give you more context about the episode’s series title as well as its episode number,” while the application also comes with clearer messaging, which has been added to the download manager when copying content to another drive.

As you can see, this new version is mostly focused on improving the overall experience with the app and repairing some of the found bugs, so it’s really important to deploy this version in order to make the most of the program.

Of course, the new version is being delivered to all devices running Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1, and in case you haven’t changed the default OS configuration, updates are automatically installed, so this fresh build might already be on your PC.

Otherwise, just download Xbox Video for Windows 8.1 manually to get all these improvements right now without waiting any longer.
