A new Windows 10 TP build will launch this month

Microsoft will ship a new technical preview build of Windows 10 later this month, and although the company wants to keep pretty much all details secret until the release gets the green light, some information slips through and reaches the web via Twitter.

Gabriel Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, revealed in a tweet that the next Windows 10 build would be part of the fbl_impressive branch, which could be an indication that development work on the new operating system has advanced well enough in the last few months.

Typically, Windows 10 builds that were released to users were part of the fbl_awesome channel, but the fact that the company has now switched to “impressive” could also be a sign that the operating system is running much better than the previous releases did and Microsoft is ready to provide access to more new features that could be part of the final release.

Only two “impressive” builds so far

While Microsoft is already working to finalize the next build to be shipped to users via the Insider program, BuildFeed shows that only two versions that are part of the “impressive” channel have been compiled so far, namely 10013 and 10018.

Microsoft previously said that new builds are compiled and tested internally every day, so the version number of the next release could actually be different.

And yet, the latest Windows 10 Technical Preview build that's currently available internally is the same 10018, so if the public release takes place soon enough, this could be the version that we could get.

New ISOs also on their way

Microsoft has also confirmed that the next Technical Preview build will come with fresh ISOs for users, which would allow them to perform a clean install without having to manually update each version.

The company usually does that for major releases, when plenty of new features are implemented, so the next Windows 10 build could indeed bring a long list of improvements for Windows Insiders.
