Just like all the other Patch Tuesday cycles, this month’s brought us a brand new version of the popular Malicious Software Removal tool that provides users with a quick way to get rid of specific forms of malware.

As usual, Microsoft hasn’t provided us with updated release notes for this particular version, but it’s safe to assume that build number 5.4 brings detection and cleaning capabilities for more malware.

The app can still be used on basically all Windows versions currently on the market, including XP, Vista, 7, and 8 and both 32- and 64-bit editions of the operating system are supported.

Keep in mind, however, that this isn’t a full-featured anti-virus solution and shall only be used for cleaning specific forms of infections.
