It adds support for detecting and cleaning Dishigy and Unruy malware

Along with the various security patches that have been included in the new May 2012 update for Microsoft’s products, the company released a new version of its Malicious Software Removal Tool.

The latest version of the utility adds the capability to detect and remove new malware, namely Dishigy and Unruy.

The Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool was released to provide scanning, detection and removal capabilities to users of Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, and Windows XP machines.

After download, the tool will run one time to check whether specific malware is present on the system. Details on the malicious software cleaned by this small app can be found on Microsoft’s website.

The new version of the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool was made available through Windows Update, Microsoft Update, Windows Server Update Services, and the Download Center.
