14 DAY TRIAL // Adobe recently released the third Flash Player security patch of the month, so Microsoft had to roll out its own Internet Explorer 10 update to address the found vulnerabilities.
The new update is only aimed at Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 and Windows RT and is designed to patch a flaw that would allow an attacker to take control of a vulnerable system once the user lands on a compromised website.
“In all cases, however, an attacker would have no way to force users to visit these websites. Instead, an attacker would have to convince users to visit the website, typically by getting them to click a link in an email message or Instant Messenger message that takes users to the attacker's website,” Microsoft explained.
As usual, the patch is being delivered via the integrated Windows Update feature available on the aforementioned platforms, so no user actions are required.
