Make sure you check for updates as soon as possible

Microsoft yesterday rolled out the download links for the new Windows 10 Preview, so millions of users from all over the world rushed to give it a shot and see what's to come for the still number one desktop operating system.

Needless to say, Windows 10 Preview is still in development stage and a number of bugs and issues might still exist, so Microsoft was hard at work to repair some of these problems and issue updates for users who install it.

As a result, the very first updates for Windows 10 Preview showed up in Windows Update only hours after the official debut of the testing version, so users are now recommended to check for new patches and install them as soon as possible to make sure that some bugs are fixed.

Just like it was the case in previous Windows versions, these improvements are delivered through Windows Update and an active Internet connection is everything you need to get them.

Bug fixes and minor improvements

As you can see for yourselves either by launching Windows Update in Windows 10 or by clicking the adjacent screenshot, today's updates bring improvements for the English Input Personalization dictionary, definition update for Windows Defender, plus a series of enhancements for Windows Technical Preview.

The last part is the most important for those who installed Windows 10 Preview and the KB3001512 bulletin reveals that it brings three different fixes for both 32- and 64-bit computers, as it follows:

• In Windows Technical Preview, certain devices do not receive firmware or driver updates.  • Adobe Flash update does not contain premium video playback.  • Some problems in the Compatibility View list for Internet Explorer 11.

A reboot is also recommended after deploying these updates, so make sure that you save your work before starting the installation process.

More updates expected soon

With Windows 10, Microsoft is trying a completely new approach and plans to deliver updates to computers running its software much faster than before.

Windows 10 Preview comes with a new update system that allows the company to ship large updates and new features without the need for a fresh install, thus making the whole process smoother and easier for both PCs and tablets.

The preview is very likely to receive new updates and features at least once a month, as Microsoft continues work on new improvements that could be part of the final product when it hits the market in early 2015.
