Microsoft Registers Xbox Gold Domains Ahead of Xbox 720 Reveal

Microsoft is giving a little more credibility to rumors that it is getting ready to reveal the Xbox 720 in the coming months by registering a number of Internet domain names that could be associated with the new gaming platform.

The recently registered domains are, according to Fusisble: XboxGold.biz, XboxGold.com.co, XboxGold.us, XboxGold.at, XboxGold.ch, XboxGold.jp, XboxGold.mx, XboxGold.ru, XboxGold.tw and XboxGold.fr.

Xbox Gold might be the new name for the Live service, which could no longer offer a free version with limited functionality.

We know that the codename for the new Microsoft home console is Durango, but the company has not announced an official name for the device.

Most gamers believe that the company will stick with its current naming scheme and will reveal the Xbox 720 in late April.

The Sony PlayStation 4 is set to launch later during 2013.
