Windows 10 will come with several visual improvements, and many of them are already in the existing Technical Preview builds part of the Windows Insider Program, but it turns out that Redmond is actually planning even more such tweaks.

A couple of new screenshots that have recently gotten leaked show new context menus available throughout the operating system, which is another confirmation that Microsoft is working to make Windows 10 a bit more appealing in terms of aesthetic features.

Leaked builds that reached the web in the last couple of months also came with new context menus, but these were only available when right-clicking the taskbar. However, it appears that in newer Windows 10 builds these context menus show up across the entire operating system, so the classic grey ones are no longer available.

Microsoft will be holding a dedicated Windows 10 event for consumers on January 21, and a new testing build of the operating system is expected shortly after that.

People close to Microsoft’s plans have revealed that Redmond could call this new build January Technical Preview and it is said to come with a plethora of improvements, including these new context menus.

At the same time, this new build is very likely to get a fully working version of Cortana, as well as Continuum, a new feature aimed at 2-in-1 PC users who want to switch from the desktop to the Modern UI without interrupting their work.

Microsoft should also share information on Windows Phone 10, the next version of its smartphone operating system that could see daylight later this year together with the new Windows 10 for desktop computers.

The company could also present Spartan, the new browser available across all platforms, as well as other improvements that could span over multiple products, including Xbox gaming consoles.

Since it’ll be primarily focused on consumers, the upcoming event will also be streamed online, with the official link to be announced during the morning of January 21.
