Microsoft will soon unveil the new Windows 8 operating system and the company promises to launch one of the largest marketing campaigns in the United States.

The Redmond-based software giant hopes to generate at least 1.6 billion impressions, Peter Han, VP of Microsoft’s US OEM division said according to thevarguy.com.

Basically, 1.6 billion impressions equals to five impressions for every man, woman and child living in the United States which, let’s be honest, sounds pretty impressive. It remains to be seen whether it’s doable or not.

“I can tell you, it's going to be difficult to tune in to your typical popular tv show or sports program and not see a Windows commercial in the next few months,” Peter Han was quoted as saying by Neowin.net at the Synnex National Conference in South Carolina.
