14 DAY TRIAL // Windows Phone 8.1, the latest flavor of Microsoft’s mobile operating system, arrives on devices with a nice range of new features, but the most appealing of them all remains Cortana, the digital personal assistant.
Microsoft appears fully aware of that and has decided to start promoting the feature more aggressively than before, as today’s video commercial for it has proven.
However, it appears that that was only the beginning, and that Microsoft has also decided to publish a special web page that allows users to “meet Cortana” and to learn more on what it is all about.
“Meet Cortana. Her job is to be your personal assistant. She makes it easier to get things done on your phone, and she's designed to be simple to use—just tell her what you want, the way you might tell a human personal assistant, and Cortana will get you going,” Microsoft notes on said web page.
Those of you who will access the portal will learn how Cortana’s name is pronounced, while also being provided with a look at the main strengths and weakness that the virtual assistant comes with.
The page has been created in a fun way, so as to reflect Cortana’s playful personality, and it will certainly make you smile for a bit, regardless of whether you’ve already had the chance to get in touch with her or not.
Additionally, the web page provides users with links to other resources that Microsoft has published online and that will enable you to learn more on what Windows Phone 8.1’s digital assistant can offer in terms of capabilities.
