Last week, Microsoft announced the availability of its Dynamics CRM for mobile devices

powered by platforms such as Android, BlackBerry, iOS and Windows Phone.

The service will arrive on mobile devices courtesy of an update set to be released sometime in the second quarter of the current year.

Many got excited on the perspective of having Microsoft Dynamics CRM available for access from a mobile device regardless of the location.

However, inquiries have also emerged on what the service will and will not be able to provide users with.

Microsoft is aware of the fact that customers are bound to have questions whenever a new product is launched, and has decided to publish a FAQ to answer some of the inquiries.

For example, we learn there that the mobile features included in this Dynamics CRM will be accessible from devices such as Windows Phones, Apple iPhone 3GS 4, and 4S, Apple iPad/iPad 2 BlackBerry, and Google Android.

Microsoft is planning the release of specific applications for each of these platforms, so that users can download and install them on smartphones and tablets.

What’s of even more interest to customers is that Dynamics CRM mobile will be able to deliver the same functionality that the Dynamics CRM on premise or online can deliver today.

Dashboards are included here, along with other functionality, all combined into a single application. This means that those who would like to take advantage of what Dynamics CRM has to offer on mobile devices won’t have to download and install multiple apps.

In the said FAQ, Microsoft notes that “Microsoft Dynamics CRM mobile will be available for a starting price of $30 per user per month.”

“Keep in mind that you have the flexibility to choose who within your organization will get mobile access. Depending on your budget, you may want to roll out mobile access to all of your CRM users or just grant it to a select few who will see the most benefit. It’s completely up to you,” Microsoft also explains.

At the same time, Microsoft promises increased security for organizations’ data and says that there will be an off-line mode for companies to take advantage of. Additional info on the upcoming mobile service can be found either in the said FAQ, or in the Preview Guide that Microsoft published for it.
