The company has already started the marketing blitz for Outlook.com

Microsoft has already confirmed that it wanted to release a new marketing blitz for its revamped Outlook.com email service, so it’s no wonder that users are starting to see ads all over the web.

But Paul Thurrott of WinSupersite.com has found something that is as ironic as it is funny. Microsoft is advertising Outlook.com on Google’s own YouTube, telling users that, in case they decide to register for an account on its email platform, they can view YouTube videos right in their inbox.

The funny thing is that Microsoft often describes Outlook.com as a much better service than Google’s Gmail, with the company encouraging users to dump all the other email services and move to its own.

And as far as Microsoft is concerned, all these ads are paying off: the company recorded 1.5 million new users just after it pushed Outlook.com out of beta.
