Windows Insiders will get updates at a faster pace

Microsoft started the Windows Insider Program at the beginning of October 2014, but since then, the company has only launched four official updates for the early builds of Windows 10, while two different versions got leaked to the web through unofficial channels.

Since some people expected Microsoft to be a little bit more active in this regard and ship new Windows 10 builds at a faster pace, the company has now decided to provide Windows Insiders with many more new releases in a shorter time frame.

That's what Gabe Aul, head of the Windows Insider Program, says in a short tweet, confirming that rapid releases is what the company is aiming for right now for the Technical Preview builds of Windows 10.

New build coming “soon”

Windows 10 build 9926 was official released on Friday, despite the fact that Microsoft promised to ship it this week, but it turns out that the company is planning to roll out new testing versions of the operating system as fast as possible, now that work on this product advances.

“We won't have a long wait between builds like this last one. Will be faster as we go on,” Gabe Aul has tweeted today, adding that a new build will most likely come soon.

And yet, do not expect the next release to come with major changes, as Microsoft is most likely trying to refine the experience and add only a handful of improvements, such as transparency for the Start menu and other visual tweaks that would improve working on the desktop and the Modern UI in Windows 10.

What we hear is that Microsoft could release a new Windows 10 Technical Preview build in early February, probably together or shortly after the release of the first Windows 10 preview for phones.

Microsoft is projected to kick off a new Windows Insider program for phones in early February, so this seems to be just the right moment to introduce a new Windows 10 build as well.
