Does not say when the mobile client will actually be released

Skype is coming to Windows Phone. Microsoft has said that even before buying Skype, though the client has not been made available as of yet (other mobile platforms out there can already enjoy Skype calling).

However, it is coming, and will arrive on devices sooner rather than later. Microsoft has said this before, and has reaffirmed it during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Skype will feature deep integration on Windows Phone, though there are no specific details available. One thing that is certain is that the VoIP capabilities will make Microsoft’s platform more appealing than before.

The latest Windows Phone devices pack all of the necessary hardware to play well with Skype: front cameras for video calling and LTE connectivity for fast data transfer. Have a look at the video embedded above to get an idea of what Microsoft’s plans for Skype include.
