Microsoft keeps working on bringing the user interface of all its products in line with the modern style brought by Windows 8, so news on visual improvements are announced every once in a while.

This time, the company has revealed that the Bing News page features a modern layout built for the touch and also displays trending topics from Facebook, Twitter, and Bing.

The new adaptive design is the perfect choice for all devices, including tablets, phones or PCs. In addition, by displaying the trending topics from social networks, Microsoft makes sure that you’re up to date with the latest news from the web.

“At the top of the Bing News page, you can easily browse the latest headlines with the news carousel showcasing the latest trending topics in categories including US, world, local, entertainment, sports, politics, and more. If you search for a celebrity or politician who is making headlines, the recent news topics about that person will also be showcased in the carousel. On the right side of the page, you will see what news is trending on Facebook and Twitter based on popular likes and tweets,” the company explained.

The update is now being rolled out to users, so in case it’s not there already, make sure you check again in a few hours.
