Microsoft has just announced that it had partnered with the City of Makati to develop a new Windows 8 application that would provide traffic information, news and weather forecasts right in the Modern UI.

Even though it’s useful especially for those living in the Philippines, the app is available in the US version of the Store too, offering the same rich feature package.

Besides weather forecasts and real-time traffic updates, Makati also comprises live road snapshots and city updates from the local government’s web portal and Twitter account.

“We are grateful that the city of Makati supports us in our mission of helping people live better lives through the use of technology,” said Karrie Ilagan, managing director, Microsoft Philippines.

“With MyMakati, Filipinos are able to get the latest updates from the country’s business district, anytime, anywhere.”
