The company is again trying to boost Surface tablet sales

Microsoft has quietly debuted a brand new campaign across the United States, again supposed to boost sales of Surface RT and Pro tablets.

This time, the company is offering at least $200 (€150) to users who agree to trade in an old iPad for any other device that’s being sold in a Microsoft store.

The Windows maker is offering the vouchers in exchange for an iPad 2, 3, or 4 and, even though the company isn’t clearly asking participants to purchase a Surface tablet, it obviously wants them to do so.

The campaign runs through October 27, 2013, so this could be the perfect timing to purchase the second-generation Surface tablet that’s said to go live on September 23.

There’s still no word on when the new device might go on sale, but rumor has it that Microsoft is planning to make the refreshed Surface lineup available on October 18 when Windows 8.1 is also projected to be officially unveiled.
