As is the case with every patch Tuesday, Microsoft is providing customers with the guidance necessary for them to prioritize the deployment of updates.

Patches in MS11-081 (Internet Explorer) and MS11-078 (.NET Framework & Silverlight) need to be considered priorities, but the Redmond company is stressing that customers should not ignore any of the security bulletins.

Both MS11-078 and MS11-081 are rated Critical as they’re designed to resolve severe security vulnerabilities which could allow an attack to execute code remotely and completely take control of victims’ computers.

“We are releasing eight security bulletins, two of which are rated Critical, the remaining rated Important. These bulletins will increase protection by addressing 23 unique CVEs in Microsoft products. As always, customers should plan to install all of these updates as soon as possible,” revealed Pete Voss, Microsoft sr. response communications manager.
