Microsoft is working to release a new preview build of Windows 10 for phones to insiders, but while no details regarding the feature lineup or the launch date are available, an official page seems to provide us with a quick glimpse into the improvements that could be part of this release.

WindowsPhoneApp.es came across an official Microsoft page that details some of the features that aren’t yet available in Windows 10 for phones preview but were spotted in leaked screenshots of new builds, so they could all be part of the next version coming out of Redmond anytime soon.

One of them, for instance, is the new personalization screen that brings a slider for adjusting transparency, as well as new background options that let you better tweak the Start screen.

“No more hunting and pecking to change your background, sounds, or lock screen. We've combined all that stuff under Settings > Personalization. And now you can preview your changes before committing - always helpful for those times you can’t make up your mind,” Microsoft says in its official description.

Microsoft Edge could be included

The software giant announced at the BUILD 2015 developer conference that its new browser would be called Edge, so Spartan is now expected to be renamed in future builds.

Information posted on the aforementioned page indeed hints that Edge could be part of the next release, thus giving users the chance to take the browser for a spin before its public launch in the fall of 2015.

Microsoft has already confirmed that a new preview build of Windows 10 for phones will come in early May, and support for Lumia 930, the company’s 5-inch flagship, is also expected to be offered.

Several other improvements, including new customization options and transparency across the OS, are all likely to be part of the upcoming OS version.
