Developers can register on a waiting list at the moment

Yesterday, Microsoft announced opened registration for its upcoming Build developer conference in Redmond between October 30 and November 2, 2012.

However, the company was able to sell all available tickets for the conference in only a few hours, including Early Bird, Full Price, and Academic ones.

The first 500 people purchasing tickets for the conference benefited from discounted rates, paying $1,595 for the Early bird registration. These sold within minutes, The Verge reports.

For those who were not able to grab a spot at the event, however, Microsoft has a waiting list on which developers can register.

However, it’s yet uncertain whether new registrants will be accepted due to cancellations, or whether Microsoft will make new spots available for them.

“Build 2012 sold out in less than an hour. Build 2012 will be unlike anything we've held on our corporate campus in a long time,” Microsoft's Tim O'Brien, general manager of development and platform evangelism, reportedly stated.

“For those unable to attend, there will be a world class online experience and local developer events throughout the world.”

Build 2012 is the second developer conference of the kind that Microsoft holds, following last year’s event, where it unveiled the new Windows 8 operating system.

Windows 8 will take center stage this year, but it won’t be the only Microsoft product set to be discussed at the event.

“At Build, we’ll dive deep to cover all the areas you care about. How to design and build beautiful Windows 8 apps. How to sell your apps in the Windows 8 Store and make money. And much more,” the company notes on the Build website.

“We have much to talk about in addition to Windows 8: Windows Azure, Windows Phone 8, Windows Server 2012, Visual Studio 2012, Xbox. Extraordinary presentations delivered by the engineers behind the products and services to get you up to speed.”

This year’s event will take place in Microsoft’s Campus, Redmond, WA 98052, United States. Additional info on the event can be found on the aforementioned website.
