Microsoft has a very busy schedule this year, as the Redmond-based company is gearing up for the release of Windows 10 on PC and mobile phones.

At the same time, its services and applications have started to be appreciated by customers that are using the competition's devices.

Android and iOS smartphones are running some of the most popular Microsoft apps and services, the more reason for the company to bring new features and improvements as often as possible.

The more these apps appeal to Android, iOS users, the higher the chance they will want to switch to a Windows Phone device, and Microsoft knows that.

One of the services that have been recently extended to Android users through Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge is OneDrive.

Microsoft has big plans with OneDrive, which is why the Redmond presented the product's roadmap during its Ignite conference. Richard Hay captured the slide from the presentation showing what Microsoft plans to do with the OneDrive app in the next months.

The future is bright for OneDrive users

According to this slide, Microsoft plans to offer a new mobile PDF experience for its Android and iOS OneDrive applications, in Q2 2015. Improvements such as the option to send a link from Outlook Mobile on iOS, Android, as well as the ability to save to OneDrive for Business from OWA will be implemented as well.

In Q3 2015, Microsoft will bring mobile offline files (read-only) support for Android and iOS OneDrive applications. The release of OneDrive Windows 10 Universal application (including read-only offline files) is slated for Q4 2015.

There are other improvements that will be added to OneDrive, but they don't have any timelines attached to them. However, it's worth mentioning that Microsoft plans to add offline mobile editing, offline mobile folders, mobile PDF annotation support for iOS and Android.
