Microsoft officially announced Office 365 Personal last month, but the company has only today released the new version of its cloud-based productivity suite for customers worldwide.

Office 365 Personal is the most affordable version of the service, as a subscription can be purchased for $6.99 (€5.05) per month or $69.99 (€50.5) per year and provides support for one PC or Mac and one tablet to be connected at the same time.

This new version of Office 365 provides access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Publisher, and Access, and also brings 20 GB of extra storage for 1 user and 60 minutes of Skype landline calls for 1 user.

“We recognize that there are households of all shapes and sizes and we’re committed to delivering the right Office for everyone – whether that be one person or an entire household,” Microsoft explained in a blog post last month.

Since it’s the most affordable Office 365 version available, it can also be purchased by Office for iPad users who can get it in order to unlock editing features on their tablets. Office for iPad is free of charge, but only to be used as a document viewer, while editing capabilities are available with an Office 365 subscription.
