The final version of Office Home & Student 2013 RT is ready to be delivered to all Surface buyers, according to a new announcement released by Microsoft.

The company revealed more than one month ago that all those who purchase a Surface RT tablet would receive a free copy of Office Home & Student 2013 RT, but the device would be initially delivered with a preview version of the productivity suite.

It appears however that the final version of Office 2013 RT is now available, so all users should get their very own copy a few days after they first use their new device.

A Wi-Fi connection is required to receive the update, so make sure you keep your Surface online with a high-speed Internet connection.

In addition, those who want to receive the update faster can manually download the final release via Windows Update.

“Office Home & Student 2013 RT provides a complete Office experience and includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. It is optimized for touch, long battery life and the tablet form factor. The new Office and Windows RT devices seamlessly blend form and function, portability and productivity, and play and work in a single device,” Oliver Roll, Office Team, said.

The Surface RT tablet is set to go on sale on October 26, alongside Microsoft’s new Windows operating system. The device will be available in three different versions, with pricing to start at $499 (€380) for a 32 GB tablet.

All versions are however sold out in several markets across the globe, so deliveries have been pushed back up to three weeks depending on the country you’re in.
