A new tool is now available for download for those interested in the discovery and assessment of risk, complexity and materiality of Excel workbooks and Access databases, namely Microsoft Office 2013 Discovery and Risk Assessment Preview.
The tool has been released with powerful software engine inside, designed to scan network shares and SharePoint document libraries on a company’s network, while including discoveries into a master inventory.
“Once files are inventoried, they are evaluated for complexity, financial impact, risk, and errors, and can then be placed under control of Microsoft Office Audit and Control Management (ACM) Server,” Microsoft explains.
The tool requires a Microsoft ACM Server database and can be installed on Windows Server 2008 R2. It also needs SQL Server Compact 3.5, .Net 4 Framework, Excel 2013 and Access 2013.
