Microsoft has finally released a public beta of the Office 2010 Service Pack 2, only a few months after the update reached the private beta testing stage.

Surprisingly, Microsoft started testing Office 2010 SP2 almost one and a half year ago, giving select testers the chance to take the update for a spin and check out the improvements made to the productivity suite.

While Service Pack 1 was officially released in June 2011, almost one year after the public debut of Office 2010, the second major update comprises updates and security fixes already available for download.

The Redmond-based technology giant hasn’t provided full details on Office 2010 Service Pack 2, but the company is expected to publish the release notes when the final version goes live.
