The battle for the best search engine is very tough because more and more companies are struggling to develop new ideas meant to revolutionize the internet. As you know, the most powerful search technology is currently provided by Google and Yahoo, the two companies that are offering a lot of features besides the main search function. Last year, Microsoft joined the battle with its Live services, releasing some search services that are continuously attracting new users because they are functioning under the Microsoft brand.

Although the main challenge is made through the solutions they provide, the companies are trying to improve their image by making special offers or donations to the clients that are using the services. Some time ago, Google decided to donate multiple computers with educational applications to several elementary schools.

Recently, Microsoft announced a new special program for Seattle's Children's Hospital that allows you to search the internet using the Live Search and contribute with $1 offered by the software giant.

"Live Search is proud to be a sponsor of the Team Seattle race car at this year's 24-hours of Daytona race. Team Seattle races to benefit Seattle's Children's Hospital and has raised over two million dollars in the past ten years to help pay the medical costs of children in need. In addition to sponsoring the car, we are offering you an easy way to help - simply do a Live Search from this page, and we will add $1 to our donation," Microsoft mentions on the official website of the service.

All you need to do is to use the Live Search engine located here and Microsoft will automatically donate $1 to Seattle's Children's Hospital for every search query made by the visitors. "For each search originated from this page between January 8th, 2007, and January 29th, 2007, Microsoft will contribute $1.00 to Children's Hospital on behalf of Team Seattle, up to $25,000. If the maximum contribution of $25,000 is achieved prior to January 29th, 2007, this page will be updated to notify you of the program status," Microsoft added.
