Microsoft has just announced that Windows 8.1 users are eligible for unlimited access to all New York Times articles until January 31, thus giving them the chance to read high-quality news stories in the Modern UI of their desktop computer or tablets.

“During this window of opportunity, Microsoft and The Times give you full access to more than 25 sections, as well as in-article videos and slideshows. You can also pin sections and blogs to your Start screen using Live tiles to get breaking news at a glance. Stay informed and up-to-date on world and national news, business, the arts, technology, sports, travel and more,” the company stated.

The New York Times app comes with full support for Microsoft’s Modern UI and packs features to make it easy for users who want to read news on Windows 8.1.

Of course, the program works on both desktop computers and tablets, as it offers support for x86, x64, and ARM versions of Microsoft’s new Windows 8.1 operating system.
