Microsoft is yet to release a comment on the first major Windows 8 upgrade, but the company is indirectly providing information on this important release via a number of job ads.

A new post on the Microsoft Careers website spotted by MSFTKitchen reveals that Microsoft is seeking an engineer to help port Fresh Paint, a popular Windows 8 application, to Windows Blue, as the application apparently requires a number of changes to make it work on the new platform.

“In the short term, we are developing the next version of the Fresh Paint app for Windows Blue and taking it to Windows Mobile 8,” the job ad reads.

Windows Mobile 8 is most likely the phone version of Windows Blue, reportedly called Windows Phone Blue, which is expected to come with a number of improvements for the existing Windows Phone 8 platform.

Another important aspect is that Microsoft once again confirms the Blue designation for the first major Windows 8 upgrade, even though it could easily remind us of the notorious Blue Screen of Death.
