Windows 8 is selling very well, Windows Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Financial Officer Tami Reller said a few hours ago, with more than 60 million copies sold since launch.

But Reller also reveals that there are now more than 1,700 certified systems for both Windows 8 and Windows RT, with plenty of new devices announced this week during CES.

“We have seen a significant increase in the number of Windows 8 certified systems since general availability at the end of October,” Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc added.

This is pretty good news for Microsoft, especially because Windows 8’s success also depends on the number of computers and tablets running it.

According to several forecasts, the PC market is expected to post a significant recovery sometime this year, and together with it, Windows 8 is also very likely to take off.
