In a world seen in black and white, those carrying Lumia devices would be the splashes of colors. This is the message of the first promo launched by the newly formed Microsoft Mobile.

With the Nokia Devices and Services business now joining the Microsoft family, the Redmond-based company is set to kick off a new marketing campaign to promote its new Lumia smartphones powered by Windows Phone 8.1, as well as the older ones that will receive the new OS as an update this summer.

“Color runs through our devices; it’s part of our DNA. From the bright and bold Nokia X family to the metallic-fused Lumia 930, our colors draw attention and make heads turn. It’s what sets us apart from our competitors and what many of you love about our design ethos,” says Microsoft Mobile in a blog post.

Microsoft recently confirmed it would continue to use the Nokia branding for Lumia, Asha and X family of smartphones. The first Lumia smartphones with Windows Phone 8.1 will be available beginning next month, but let’s see what the newly formed Microsoft Mobile will announce later this year.

We expect more Windows Phone devices to be announced this fall, when Nokia used to hold its yearly event. For the time being, it’s unclear if Microsoft Mobile will continue the tradition of Nokia World conference, but we hope new Windows Phone devices will be announced soon.
