A new version of the operating system has just been spotted in benchmark

We've reported over the last couple of weeks about new versions of Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 which have been spotted in benchmarks.

Soon afterwards, Microsoft started delivering a minor update for devices powered by this version of the operating system, namely version 8.10.14157.200.

Unfortunately, this particular version of the OS did not come with an official changelog, but we've got many reports from users who successfully captured this Windows Phone update that it does bring a few tweaks here and there.

Now it looks like there's a new version of Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 that's been spotted at WPBench, which seems to be a major bump from the previous iteration.

We're talking about version 8.15.12375.0 of Windows Phone 8.1, which has been submitted to WPBench's database earlier this week.

Just like the previous update that was spotted last weekend in the same benchmark's database, we believe that Microsoft will start rolling out the new version of the operating system in the next few days.

While we don't think that this could be the GDR2 update which is supposed to arrive for Windows Phone 8.1 devices this fall, we do expect it to be a major update that might bring new features and important improvements to the operating system.

If you have already captured a new Windows Phone update that has a similar or close number version, please let us know in the comments. If you got the new update, did you notice any important changes?
