14 DAY TRIAL // Windows Phone users will be glad to know that Microsoft may soon launch another update for its favorite operating system. The long rumored GDR2 or Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 may not be coming this year after all, but Microsoft is expected to release at least one more upgrade before 2015.
The new Windows Phone 8.1.1 build 14203 has been recently spotted by the folks over at WindowsCentral, though the new version is only mentioned in a changelog for the Battery Saver application.
Although Windows Phone 8.1 is still not available on all compatible devices, Microsoft does seem eager to finish the year with yet another major update for its mobile operating system, before the next version actually hits gold in 2015.
As mentioned in the changelog, the latest update for Battery Saver refers to Windows Phone 8.1 build 14203, which is a major bump over the current 14192 version.
Moreover, the list of changes mentions that Windows Phone 8.1.1 should enable “real time live tile” for Battery Saver. In addition, the next Windows Phone firmware build should allow users to add the Battery Saver to the Quick Settings in the Action and Notification Center.

This is the only insight we’re given over the unannounced Windows Phone 8.1.1 update, but since this is a direct reference, we expect more info to emerge in the coming days.
In the same piece of news, Battery Saver, the application that allows Windows Phone users to manage their battery live, as well as the power saving features, has been updated with tons of new features.
For example, the newest version of Battery Saver comes with Time Filters in the usage view where users can now specify the timeframe of data to look at.
In addition, the firmware also adds a Turn On until next charge option, which does exactly that: it allows users to turn on the battery saver until the next time they charge their phone.
Last but not least, the update is also supposed to bring improved battery usage scaling, which means that the data will now “scale to actual device battery capacity with full width mapping to 100% capacity.”
You can now download Battery Saver for Windows Phone 1.0.14201.0 for free via Windows Phone Store. The application is only compatible with devices powered by Windows Phone 8.1 and up. Keep in mind that some features will only work with the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1.1 update.
