Office 365 has become Microsoft's main weapon to conquer schools, teachers, and students across the world, so the Redmond-based tech giant is now working to make its solution available to more people at the lowest possible fees.

But starting today, teachers and students can use Office 365 without paying a fee, as the productivity suite is now completely free for all those who are eligible for this promo aimed at the educational sector.

“That includes the 5.5 million eligible students in Australia, the nearly 5 million eligible students in Germany, 7 million more in Brazil, 1.3 million at Anadolu University in Turkey, every student in Hong Kong and millions more,” the company explains.

What you get free of charge

Basically, an Office 365 subscription provides you with access to the world's most powerful productivity tools on the majority of devices, including iPad, Android and Windows tablets.

You thus get to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, and Publisher on up to five PCs or Macs and five mobile devices, all completely free of charge, but only if your school is eligible for the offer. In addition, you also get 1 TB of free storage on OneDrive, as well as access to Office Online for document editing, collaboration, and co-authoring right in your browser.

If you want to check your school's eligibility, all you need to do is go over to this link if you're a student or this link if you're a teacher and enter the email address provided to you by your school.

The free Office 365 for schools offer was first launched in the United States, but Microsoft claims that making it available all over the world is nothing more than a confirmation of the fact that the Redmond-based software giant is trying to support the education sector with access to some of its top products.
