Unveiled earlier this year at Mobile World Congress 2015 trade fair, Microsoft's Lumia 640 is expected to make its debut on the market sometime this month.

The mid-rage smartphone will be rolled out worldwide during April and India will be one of the countries where the Lumia 640 will go on sale.

While we already know that Lumia 640 will be launched in India this month, there's no telling which retailer will be selling the smartphone and when.

The good news is Indian blog WhatsOnTech has uncovered some information on the arrival of Lumia 640 in India. Apparently, Flipkart will be one of the main retailers to sell the Lumia 640 in India this month.

Flipkart's commissions page has been updated to reflect the upcoming availability of Lumia 640 through its official retail channels, along with Huawei Honor Holly.

Although the smartphone has yet to be listed on Flipkart's official website, we're confident the Indian retailer will start teasing the Lumia 640 closer to launch.

In the same piece of the news, Lumia 640 has been listed on Microsoft India's webpage, but no release date has been given. We also know that handsets should be priced at around Rs 7,000 ($112 / €105) outright.

5-inch display, quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM

For those who don't know, Lumia 640 will ship with Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 right out of the box. The smartphone is Windows 10 ready, which means it will be upgraded to the latest version of Windows Phone later this year when it gets released.

The mid-range smartphone sports a 5-inch HD (720p) capacitive touchscreen display, a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Microsoft Lumia 640 comes with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and video recording, as well as secondary 1-megapixel camera in the front. Stay tuned for more news on Lumia 640's arrival in India.
