Microsoft LicenseWise for Volume Licensing is by no means a new project from the Redmond company. However, with Windows 7 on the horizon, but not just for the next iteration of the Windows client, LicenseWise resources might just be the answer for Microsoft partners to streamline volume licensing solutions to customers. What partners will be able to access is a web-based application set up to permit the simplification of the licensing process by making available a collection of tools and resources to partners.

According to the software giant, the Microsoft LicenseWise for Volume Licensing offers: “Simplified access - speeds delivery of comprehensive, up-to-date product and licensing information. Optimized sales cycle - helps minimize the time spent conducting licensing research and preparing quotes; applies logic to provide options that effectively address your customers’ needs. Growth opportunities - enables a deeper understanding of your customer needs and helps improve process efficiency, so you can focus on building new revenue opportunities. Integration - integrates with Microsoft License Advisor, a customer-facing licensing tool, to support seamless quote-generation.”

Microsoft is serving LicenseWise in no less than 21 languages, including: Brazilian Portuguese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, and Traditional Chinese. LicenseWise is in this regard designed to increase sales efficiency when it comes to Microsoft software products and licenses at an international level. This is valid since the re-labeling and re-branding of the old Gear Up Licensing Configurator, as the Microsoft LicenseWise for Volume Licensing. With that move, Microsoft managed to shift the focus with its sales tools on worldwide partners.

“Microsoft LicenseWise for Volume Licensing is an online, self-service resource that can help you recommend product and licensing solutions to your customers, optimize your sales process, and build new revenue opportunities,” Microsoft added.
