Microsoft has recently announced that the Surface Pro would go on sale in Japan on June 7, revealing that the local product range would also include a region-specific model.

The company has decided drop the 64 GB unit in Japan and instead launch a brand new version featuring 256 GB of storage space.

According to a report by LiveSite.net, the 128 GB tablet will be priced at $975 (€758), while the 256 GB version will be available for $1170 (€910).

In addition, both tablets will be delivered with Office 2013 Home & Business, while all the other specs are similar to the international versions of the Surface Pro.

Last but not least, it appears that Microsoft is also planning to release some special Touch Covers for the Japanese market, but more information would eventually be provided at a later date.
