Microsoft has just announced a new series of third-party accessories that improve the overall experience with a Surface 2 tablet, thus trying to ensure that its revamped device would post better sales than its predecessor.

“Our commitment to the enterprise wouldn’t be complete without new third-party accessories catered specifically for businesses. This year, with the launch of Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2, we are introducing 10 new accessory manufacturers all committed to satisfying the needs of business customers deploying Surface in the commercial and enterprise space,” Microsoft said.

In addition to fixed and mobile POS accessories from ArmorActive and charging carts designed by Anthro, Microsoft has also presented a new stand made by Maroo that can basically turn a Surface tablet into a full-featured PC.

The accessory only requires consumers to slide in their tablets and, with the help of USB or Bluetooth mice and keyboards, they can use the device just any other desktop computer.

No pricing details are available for the time being, but more details will be announced at a later date.
